Common Types of Pet Emergencies
Call us if your bird or exotic pet is unresponsive, has suffered a trauma and/or is bleeding, is experiencing excessive vomiting or diarrhea, struggling to breathe or has eaten something poisonous.
Can your pet emergency wait until tomorrow?
If your pet is sick but the emergency is not immediate, please give us a call during regular business hours or leave a message on our animal emergency line.
Non-urgent messages can be left on the clinic's voice mail at (516) 482-1101. A representative from the clinic will be in touch the following morning after 9AM.

Unfortunately, we are not able to treat wildlife directly from the general public, but we work together with several organizations to provide emergency care to injured or sick wild animals. Visit our wildlife page to learn more about how we help, and what to do if you find injured or sick wildlife.
Emergency Vet Care Near You
Long Island Bird & Exotics Vet Clinic and animal hospital is available until midnight to provide emergency care to exotic pets from New York, the Bronx, Queens, Long Island, Manhattan, New Jersey and Connecticut. Contact our on-call veterinarian if your exotic pet, bird or small animal is in need of emergency care.
